Formats for Submitted Artwork

Artwork submitted for exhibition on Via-artis.com should be in one of the following formats:

(1) Digital files on disc - We can accept digital files on CD-ROM or Macintosh-formatted Zip disc. These files may be TIFF, JPEG, GIF, or Adobe Photoshop files (v. 5.5 or earlier). Adobe Acrobat PDF files are also acceptable. PDF, JPEG and GIF files may be emailed. If you have any questions concerning file formats, please contact us for assistance via e-mail or call 785.865.3608

(2) Photographs - We will scan photographic images for conversion to a web-suitable format. Photographs should be a minimum of 4" x 5" in size up to a maximum of 8" x 10" in either black & white or color. The subject of the photograph should be as large as possible in the frame.

Photographs sent by parcel post or courier should be packaged to prevent damage and should include return postage. We also welcome in-person submissions by appointment; please call us at 785.865.3608.

(3) Original Works - Two-dimensional original works up to a maximum of 8.5" x 14.0" may be submitted for scanning; please contact us to set up an appointment to scan your work.

On-location digital photography for oversize and/or three-dimensional works is available through BlindSpot Studio LLC Custom Graphic Arts, within a fifty-mile radius of Lawrence, KS.

Time Frame for New Exhibits

New exhibits in the Galleria are scheduled to start on the 1st of each month. Works to be displayed should be submitted by the 15th of the preceding month (i.e. December 15th for exhibitions to start January 1st).

Number of Images on Display

Artists may select up to ten images to start their show in the Galleria. The standard time period for exhibitions is one month. Artists may choose to extend their exhibits on a month-to-month basis and to add to their exhibits up to a maximum of thirty images on display at any one time. Works on display in exhibits may be rotated monthly if desired. Images to be added or rotated should be submitted according to the schedule above.

Additional Display Space Features

Artists may choose to include a photograph of themselves, a reproduction of their signature, any contact information, and a short paragraph (250 word max., please) about their work in their display space, if desired. These materials may be submitted along with works to be exhibited.
Artists on display will receive one CD-ROM containing all of the images in their current exhibit at no charge.

Exhibit Rates

Exhibit space on Via-artis.com is made available on a month-to-month basis at the rate of $20/month. This fee covers individualized exhibit space, scanning and file preparation, and all other normal charges associated with an individual exhibit. Initial payment for one month is required when artwork is submitted for inclusion in the Galleria.

Referral Discount: Any artist with works on display in the Galleria will receive one additional month of display space FREE for referring another artist who signs up to display their work.

Student Discount: Via-artis.com offers display space to elementary, secondary and college student artists at a rate of $10/month. Student artists may select up to ten images to start their show in the galleria and may display a maximum of fifteen images at any one time. Student artists must be currently enrolled to qualify for the student discount rate.

Payment Options

(1) Pay by the month. We'll send you an invoice each month.

(2) Prepayment for any number of months in advance. We'll send you a reminder when you have thirty days remaining on your account.

Exhibits which have closed or are scheduled to close may be renewed on either a monthly or prepaid basis for any number of additional months.

Payment of exhibit fees may be made by cash, certified check, or money order. Personal checks will also be accepted, subject to verification. Returned checks will be subject to a $30 returned check charge and the artist's exhibit will be closed until the account is brought current. Please make checks or money orders payable to Via-Artis.com. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL.
